Johnny Lane's paintings are a cross between Matisse and Modigliani —they are that good. At Rhode Island School Of Design (RISD) in the early 1990's, Lane studied painting and began developing what would become his signature style — emphasizing vivid color, audacious lines and strong figurative compositions. Lane has exhibited his paintings in solo and group shows in galleries in Los Angeles, New York City and Boston. He's been an Artist in Residence at Herb & Wood in San Diego since 2017. In addition to being a talented musician and dad, he co-founded Mutt Scouts dog rescue in 2005. His first book “Colossus Of Montauk” published by Diogenes is due in early 2026. He lives and works in Southern California.
